The via dei Contrabbandieri (Smugglers' way) is not a via ferrata but an unequipped ledge overlooking the lake between Riva del Garda and Limone. It's a horizontal mountaineer route to be tackled with the same techniques of vertical climbing. It requires experience in via ferrata or rock climbing.
- It is very beautiful and famous, for sure one of the most panoramic and exciting routes.
- A crossing on a ledge: to climb literally suspended between the sky and the water.
- The fixed steel wire is located in only a few places; to cross it you walk and climb belayed by the rope.
